An update on our pushbike refurbishment project for Bikes for Humanity
Each Wednesday morning, members refurbish donated pushbikes at our shed on Simpson Street. These bikes are then either sold locally or sold to Bikes for Humanity.
Bikes for Humanity then send the bikes to African villages for children to use to get to school, get water and complete other jobs. The sea container that the bikes are shipped in is converted into a workshop with spare bike parts etc. This then becomes a small business for the village or schools should the bikes break-down.
